New aged care home for Warrnambool

The 50 resident facility will be built on a large 'green field' site in West Warrnambool and is expected to open in 2009.

The development will be a boost for the Warrnambool economy during the construction stage and later when dozens of local people will be recruited to operate the home and care for residents.

Mercy Health & Aged Care has already received Federal Government licences for 50 beds and will apply for a further 50 licences in the future. The additional licences would enable the new home to include a dementia specific wing.

Mercy Health & Aged Care has considerable experience in building aged care and health facilities. A 60 bed aged care facility in Colac was successfully built by Mercy in 2005 (now being extended by a further 50 beds). The facility is an example of how the latest building and design techniques, coupled with Mercy's aged care experience, can produce a high quality and caring environment for elderly residents.
