Joining Mercy Health & Aged Care will provide a sustainable future for the four facilities, which are based in Albury and Young and also maintain their Mercy traditions and values.
A moving ceremony was held in Albury on 11 April 2007 and a similar ceremony was held the following day in Young to celebrate this important milestone.
Mercy people in both States are being encouraged to spend time with their counterparts at other facilities, to share experiences and best practices.
Some staff from NSW have already visited their 'southern cousins'. Mercy Hospice and Werribee Mercy's palliative care unit have given guided tours to visitors from Mercy Health Service's (Albury) palliative care service.
Aged care is predominately funded by the Federal Government and our negotiations and discussions with them will be enhanced as an organisation that operates in more than one State.
