International Women's Day 2010

Monday 8 March is International Women's Day, acknowledged around the globe to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.
The United Nations theme for 2010 is Equal rights, equal opportunities: progress for all.
"With more women in the boardroom, greater equality in legislative rights and an increased critical mass for women's visibility as impressive role models in every aspect of life, one would think that women have gained true equality. The unfortunate fact is that women are still not paid equally to their male counterparts, women are still not present in equal numbers in business or politics and globally women's education, health and violence against them is worse than men."
As an Employer of Choice, Mercy Health would like to acknowledge the amazing work of our people. Mercy Health has worked hard to bridge the gap by implementing a range of workplace practices and initiatives that support our women throughout the different life stages. Equal Employment Opportunity is a high priority for Mercy Health and is part of our culture to ensure we attract, engage and retain the best female talent.
