To help you and your partner prepare for childbirth and parenting, MercyHospital for Women offers extensive educational programs at Heidelberg, the Panch Clinic in Preston and the Mercy Women's Clinic in Ivanhoe.The range of programs offered suit both new parents and established families.
All sessions are tailored to meet your individual needs and you are welcome to attend them either alone or with your partner and/or support person. Topics covered include early pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting, revision for experienced parents, breastfeeding, practical labour skills, pain relief in labour, caesarean section, multiple pregnancy and the role of grandparents.

Perinatal Centre
This specialist centre is linked to the University of Melbourne and manages women with high risk pregnancies.Staffed by leading experts in maternal and foetal medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, ultrasound, radiology and imaging - our Mercy Perinatal Centre offers mother and babies at risk the highest possible standard of care.The Centre also provides extra antenatal monitoring of women with high blood pressure and diabetes to ensure that mother and baby are kept in the best of health.
Breastfeeding Support Centre
The Breastfeeding Support Centre is available for mothers and babies who are having breastfeeding and/or settling problems. The clinic enables mothers with babies aged up to six months to spend a day addressing feeding/parenting difficulties. This support is offered at Heidelberg and the Mercy Women's Clinic - Ivanhoe. Shorter appointments are also available at Heidelberg, the Ivanhoe Clinic and Panch Health Services.
Mercy @Home
Mercy@Home provides postnatal care for women and babies in your own home.If you have specific clinical needs, a midwife from MercyHospital for Women can visit you and your baby.If you are outside our geographical area, we can arrange for a visit from another service.
